How we’ll approach it

The method follows the person.

CBT — if the work is about the loops your thinking gets caught in, and the behaviours that reinforce them.

DBT — if the work is about distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and the skills to hold yourself steady.

Emotion-Focused & Compassion-Focused — if the work is less about reframing and more about being with what’s already there.

EMDR, ACT, IFS, Narrative — available with therapists trained in them. Mention any preference in your consult.

Common questions

A few things people ask first.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re asking the question, it usually is. The 20-minute consult is designed for exactly this — you don’t need to know what’s wrong, or have a goal, or have tried other things first.

What if my therapist isn’t a good fit?

Tell your therapist or the office — we’ll talk through alternatives together. Fit matters more than continuity, and we’d rather get you in the right room.

Are sessions covered by insurance?

Most extended health plans cover Registered Psychologists and Registered Provisional Psychologists. Direct billing is available with Blue Cross.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you’re working on. Solution-focused work can be a handful of sessions; trauma processing or longstanding patterns are longer. We’ll talk about it openly — therapy that doesn’t end is not the goal.

Twenty minutes. On the phone. No pressure.

Tell us what’s going on and ask anything — insurance, format, fees, what a first session looks like. You’ll be on the call with one of our therapists, and we’ll go from there together. If we’re not the right practice for you, we’ll say so.
