“I see strength as an innate characteristic in all people.”
About Erin
I also understand it can be difficult to see that strength within ourselves in times of hardship and pain. It can be incredibly challenging to explore the most vulnerable parts of our being — our innermost thoughts and feelings. I believe this work can begin in a non-judgemental, safe and supportive environment that empowers individuals to make the positive changes needed to live happy and fulfilled lives. The key to successful therapy is developing strong therapeutic relationships with my clients rooted in empathy, trust, mutual respect, and understanding.
I provide counselling to individuals for a wide variety of mental health concerns — depression, anxiety, self-esteem and identity, stress, grief, body image, relationship issues, and OCD. I also provide couples therapy utilizing both Gottman and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), taking a research-based approach to creating stronger, healthier relationships.
My approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing from a variety of research- and evidence-based modalities — including CBT, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I seek to understand my clients’ experiences through their eyes. Each client is different, and therefore counselling will vary for each individual.
