How we’ll work

Methods designed for how children actually communicate.

Play-based work. For ages 3–6 especially, sessions often bring a parent into the room as the active partner. Coping skills get built together.

Expressive arts. Drawing, sand, story, movement — for kids who don’t (yet) have the words for what’s happening inside.

CBT, adapted. Building on the same principles as adult CBT but with simpler language, more pictures, and a parent who helps practise the skills at home.

Common questions

A few things parents ask first.

How young can my child start?

We see children from about age 3. Younger than that, work usually happens through the parent.

Will I be in the room?

Often yes — especially for younger kids and play-based sessions. Older children typically have part of the session alone, with a parent check-in at the end.

What if my child won’t talk?

Most don’t at first. Child therapy doesn’t require it — the methodology is built around children who communicate through play, art, and behaviour rather than narrative.

Twenty minutes. On the phone. No pressure.

Tell us what’s going on and ask anything — insurance, format, fees, what a first session looks like. You’ll be on the call with one of our therapists, and we’ll go from there together. If we’re not the right practice for you, we’ll say so.
