Privacy

Your privacy, in plain language.

This page explains what happens to your information when you use this website. We’ve kept it short and readable on purpose.

Your therapy is separate — and confidential

First, the important part. What you share in therapy — your sessions and records — is treated as confidential under the professional standards of the College of Alberta Psychologists, within the limits and exceptions set out in the consent form you sign with your therapist. None of it lives on this website or is ever shared with the analytics or advertising tools described below. This page is only about the website.

What we collect

Two things, and that’s it:

  • What you send us. When you book a free 20-minute consult or contact us, we collect the details you type in — your name, email, and phone number.
  • Basic website analytics. Like most sites, we use cookies and similar tools to see how people find and use the site (pages viewed, rough location, device, and the link or ad that brought you here). This is collected through Google Analytics and Google Ads.

Why we collect it

To reply to you and arrange your consult, and to understand how people find us — including whether our ads are working — so we can keep improving. We don’t use it for anything else.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t run remarketing — we don’t build advertising profiles about you or follow you around the web with ads based on having visited a counselling site. We measure whether our ads work; we don’t target you with them afterward.

Who else is involved

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads to run the measurement above; Google processes some of this data on servers in the United States. When you submit the consult form, the email and phone you enter may be securely hashed (scrambled) before being shared with Google — never to identify or advertise to you. You can read how Google handles this at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your choices

How long we keep it

Website analytics data is retained on a rolling basis by Google.

Changes & contact

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Questions, or want a copy of what we hold? Reach us by email at hello@fpcounselling.com, by phone at (403) 971-3710, or by mail at 2640 30 St SW, Calgary, AB T3E 2M2. You also have the right to contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Twenty minutes. On the phone. Free.

Tell us what’s going on and ask anything — insurance, format, fees, what a first session looks like. You’ll be on the call with one of our therapists, and we’ll go from there together. If we’re not the right practice for you, we’ll say so.
