Elvira Bravo - Psychologist in Calgary

Elvira Bravo, M.ACP

Registered Provisional Psychologist

I believe that the therapeutic alliance is the core of therapy; it takes courage to bring up the most vulnerable aspects of life. I believe that it starts with 2 important elements: non-judgment and empathy. Therapy also needs to be a safe place to become our most authentic selves.

I provide counselling to individuals for a wide variety of concerns, such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, stress, dealing with illness (of self or a loved one), and relationship issues. I also provide counselling to couples helping my clients take steps to creating stronger and healthier relationships.

My approach to therapy is respectful and non-judgmental, drawing from a variety of different research and evidence-based modalities. Some of these modalities include person-centred approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I also provide couples therapy utilizing the Gottman method, a research-based approach to couples counselling that promotes healthier relationships.

I seek to collaborate and understand your experiences through your eyes. Every client is different. Hence, counselling varies for everyone. Finding the right therapist who fits your needs is a big commitment. That is why I offer a free 20-minute consultation to determine whether I am a good fit for you. I look forward to supporting you through your healing journey.
