বাংলায় থেরাপি · Therapy in Bangla / Bengali

A Bangla-speaking therapist in Calgary.

Trauma-informed work for anxiety, depression, family conflict, grief, and suicidality — in a language that holds the full weight of your story.

Why this matters

A first-language option for Bangladeshi Calgary.

Calgary’s Bangladeshi and Bengali-speaking community is growing, but Bangla-speaking psychologists are rare. Most people end up working in their second language — emotional work with reduced precision and added cognitive load.

Working in Bangla means you can describe an experience the way you actually feel it. A therapist who already understands the texture of joint-family dynamics, the weight of social expectation, the specific shape of stigma around mental health in South Asian communities, and the particular challenges of building a life in Canada while staying connected to family in Bangladesh.

Sessions can move between Bangla, English, and (conversationally) Hindi or Urdu — you choose what feels right.

Practicalities

A few things worth knowing.

Are sessions covered by insurance?

Most extended health plans cover Registered Psychologists and Registered Provisional Psychologists. Direct billing is available with Blue Cross.

Can I bring a family member who only speaks Bangla?

Yes. Family sessions are available in Bangla or in a Bangla–English mix, depending on who is in the room.

In-person or online?

Both. Sessions at our Calgary office (2640 30 St SW) or by encrypted video for clients across Alberta.

Twenty minutes. On the phone. Free.

Tell us what’s going on and ask anything — insurance, format, fees, what a first session looks like. You’ll be on the call with one of our therapists, and we’ll go from there together. If we’re not the right practice for you, we’ll say so.
