Rates & insurance

Fees, in plain language.

Our fees are lower than the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta’s recommended schedule.

Insurance

Most plans cover us.

Our therapists are registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Sessions are typically eligible under your extended health plan’s “Psychological Services” benefit.

Direct billing available with Blue Cross. For other insurers, we provide a receipt with everything your plan needs for reimbursement.

Credentials & coverage

What your plan looks for.

Registered Psychologist (R. Psych). Covered by nearly all extended health plans that include “psychological services.”

Registered Provisional Psychologist (RPP). Covered by many plans — provisional work is by definition supervised by a Registered Psychologist, which is what most plans require.

Health Spending Accounts (HSA) almost always include counselling as an eligible expense.

Common questions

Why are your rates lower than the recommended fee schedule?

The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta publishes a recommended schedule that hovers around $220–$235. We’ve held ours lower because the goal is to make therapy reachable for the people who actually need it — not to maximise revenue per chair.

How does sliding scale work?

Ask in your free consult — we’ll talk through what’s sustainable for you and whether we’re currently able to offer a reduced rate.

Does my plan cover Registered Provisional Psychologists?

Most do, but it varies by insurer. The simplest check: search your benefits document for “Psychological Services” and look for the credential list.

Do you offer packages or pre-paid bundles?

No. We don’t want to create financial pressure to continue therapy past the point that’s useful for you.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Forty-eight hours’ notice. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee. Life happens — if something unexpected comes up, get in touch and we’ll work it out.

Twenty minutes. On the phone. Free.

Tell us what’s going on and ask anything — insurance, format, fees, what a first session looks like. You’ll be on the call with one of our therapists, and we’ll go from there together. If we’re not the right practice for you, we’ll say so.
